"Terry & Christi (Toad & Mole)'s place is a gem. Every amenity you can imagine, very private, and a stunning garden + lake view. The indoor swimming pool, steam shower, and hot tub were some of our favourites. They have a lakefront reading nook that we would have liked to spend more time in as well. They've built something very special here that everyone should experience!"

"The squeaky clean pool, steam shower, hot tub, the bedroom, just top tier. Terry and Christi have really gone above and beyond to create such a nice place. Everything is provided and there is so MUCH PRIVACY! We were a little worried at first, but don’t worry, so much privacy. Thank you so much!"
"We stayed three nights for a quiet getaway and could not have asked for a better time. Even with the grim weather outside we were warm and comfortable, enjoying a fantastic visit to Cobourg and Port Hope. Terry was very responsive to our questions, flexible when our arrival time changed slightly, and met us to show us around and answer all of our questions. The bed was extremely comfortable, we swam in the pool once or twice every day, and the breakfast items and treats were a lovely touch. The garden, hot tub and lakefront features looked super and only the wintery conditions prevent us from taking full advantage of everything. The place is quiet and very private and is perfect for a relaxing vacation."

"Lovely and Serene place!!!! Beautiful getaway!! Full of nature and what was really mesmerizing was the alluring view i, e Sunrise and sunset! Place was well maintained and loved the lush green grasses and there was greenery all around ♥️ We really enjoyed swimming in the pool..Neat and well maintained. "This is a gem of a place. Years of love and effort have gone into the amazing gardens that lead down directly onto the Lake. Great location, friendly informative, and unobtrusive hosts. "Photos don’t do it justice - this property is truly incredible! Terry and Christie put a lot of time and care into this property and it really shows. The garden is themed after The Wind in the Willows, and features many nooks like the hot tub, a beautiful outdoor dining area, and multiple lake lookouts including “Mole End” which is a little cozy cabin overlooking the water, becoming a favourite spot for me and my partner to have a drink and play board games. The place is also incredibly quiet and private."

"Our stay at Wind in the Willows was nothing short of magical. The entire property feels like stepping straight into the pages of the book—peaceful, whimsical, and full of little surprises. The cozy room we stayed in was perfect, and the indoor pool and hot tub overlooking the lake made the experience unforgettable. One of our favourite parts was the small underground room facing the lake—just like a little mole house—with a TV, heater, and the coziest atmosphere. Every corner of this place has a story to tell. A huge thank you to our amazing hosts Terry and Christi. They welcomed us with so much warmth, showed us around the entire property, and made us feel completely at home."

"The garden, a floral labyrinth with inviting seating everywhere and landscaping that would make Gil Schliefer envious, whispered a warm 'welcome back.' We enjoyed a BBQ feast, played card games at the main lookout, dipped into the lake, skipped rocks, and delighted in wildlife sightings including blue jays, cardinals, robins, rabbits, squirrels, and monarch butterflies. Morning coffee with the sunrise was pure bliss. Thank you Terry(Toad) and Christi (Mole) !Can’t wait for part 3 of our adventure!"

"I brought my girl here for a surprise birthday trip and she said it was exactly what she needed. To say this is a hidden gem is an understatement. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. "Everything was perfect. The garden and view of the water were beautiful. The theme was incredibly unique, but not so specific to go unappreciated if you aren't familiar with The Wind in the Willows. The indoor accommodations were also top-notch; very clean and comfortable living space, generous drinks and snacks provided, and another unique experience in an indoor pool with a swim machine. Finally, Terry and Christi were incredibly friendly and helpful while completely respecting our privacy."

"U might think when u are staying with a veterinarian and a nurse that u would be staying with caring people & in the case of Terry and Christie you would be right but beyond that we found was the most beautiful peaceful heavenly environment. Their place was beautifully decorated & spotlessly clean; meticulous attention paid to every small detail. Swims before bed in the ensuite pool were simply the icing on the cake. &speaking of food, the fridge was stocked with cream cheese, jam, smoked salmon, croissant, oj and other beverages. We are so grateful 2 have been able to share this place with Wind and the Willows inhabitants & look forward 2 coming back ❤️"

"We had the most wonderful anniversary weekend at Wind in the Willow! From the moment we arrived, everything was met with such care and attention to detail. Toad gave us a detailed rundown of the place, making sure we felt right at home. It was clear that a lot of thought went into making this a special experience. The cabin was incredibly clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated. We were even provided with a thoughtful breakfast, which was such a lovely surprise. "This waterfront property is absolutely stunning. Terry and Christi were excellent hosts - they gave us a tour upon our arrival and were very friendly and welcoming. We also got to meet their two dogs who were so adorable! We loved that the hot tub overlooked the garden and lake, and also appreciated that we could still enjoy the beautiful scenery from the indoor pool area as there is a big window overlooking the backyard. The suite itself was nice and cozy, and the bed was very comfortable. I appreciated how clean it was, and it was also very nice that breakfast was provided for us."
